Un-reserving names? - Guild Wars Forums

Okay, so here's the deal. I preordered from one place, then decided I wanted a different preorder item, got my money back, and preordered from a different place. I now want to switch my character names over to the new account but I can't because, even after deleting my old characters, I'm told their names are taken. It's nice that ArenaNet wants to make absolutely certain we get to keep the names we want, but I'd really like to keep the names I originally planned on and get the preorder item I want. Is there any way to do that?

Can I delete a character name from one account and remake it on another account?

Deleted character names go into a 60-minute holding period to allow the reserved name to be maintained on the same account. If you delete a character on one account, the name will become available to anyone after 60 minutes and you may be able to then create that named character on another account. Please do note that there is a risk that someone else will acquire the name and bind it to his or her account. Name transfer from one account to another is risky, at best.
